Once considered the “ultimate predator” of the Northern Hemisphere, the wolf is now classified as endangered in much of its former range in the US. Information will be presented on the history of wolfs in North America, wolf biology, and behavior. Conversation efforts and species survival plans are also discussed. The first session will take place in a classroom setting where expert guest speakers will enhance your learning experience. The second session will take place at Wolf Haven where you can get up close and observe wolfs in their natural habitat. For the second session, please wear layered clothing and sturdy walking shoes. You may also bring a camera, a clipboard and paper for taking notes and must provide your own transportation to Wolf Haven International. You are encouraged to bring a brown-bag lunch for both classes.
