Riley was born to a wolf breeder in Oregon, and sold into private ownership when he was very young. After spending some time in California, the owner moved to Washington State with him. Sadly, Riley spent his life in very small and sub-standard living conditions. In 2009, the owner unexpectedly passed away, leaving no one to care for him. Thankfully, the next door neighbors stepped in to temporarily take care of Riley, and they contacted Wolf Haven about a potential rescue. On October 6, 2009, we welcomed Riley to the sanctuary.
