Wolf Haven International is a nonprofit organization founded in 1982. Wolf Haven's mission is "working for wolf conservation" through protection of wild wolves; promotion of wolf restoration in historic ranges; provision of sanctuary for captive-born wolves; and public education on the value of all wildlife.
Wolf Haven volunteers are important to the wolves at Wolf Haven and in the wild because they give of their time, knowledge, and support in educating people about wolves and by promoting Wolf Haven International throughout the community.
Volunteers help to increase understanding, appreciation, and conservation of wolves. Wolf Haven volunteers are invited to attend special programs and meetings where they are provided with opportunities to learn even more about wolves.
If you have a special talent, we'll put it to good use!
Tour Guides are Wolf Haven volunteers who work with our visitors, leading them on educational tours of the wolf sanctuary. Tour guides must be able to work well with people of all ages, be able to work outside in all types of weather and be comfortable with public speaking. They may also work in other educational programs as needed.
Special Events help with Wolf Haven's spring and summer events that often attract crowds of 150 - 225 people. Volunteers help with tour guiding, crafting, face painting, parking, admissions and crowd control.
Office Assistants help staff with a variety of jobs such as stuffing envelopes, copying, and other projects. We are especially in need of volunteers to help with data entry on a regular basis.
Grounds Volunteers are needed to paint, weed, landscape and spruce up Wolf Haven's grounds.
Tabling Volunteers teach others about Wolf Haven and wolf conservation by providing information tables around the area during various events.
